The Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Haveli is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation in mathematics and emerging interdisciplinary fields. The department aims to develop analytical thinking, quantitative reasoning, computational expertise, and problem-solving abilities among students to prepare them for academic, professional, and research careers in the modern technological era.
Mathematics is the foundation of modern science, engineering, economics, finance, artificial intelligence, and technological innovation. Keeping in view the increasing importance of mathematical and computational sciences, the department strives to provide students with quality education, research opportunities, and practical exposure to modern analytical techniques and emerging technologies.
History
Our Journey
The Department of Mathematical Sciences traces its origin to the Kahuta Haveli Campus of the University of Poonch Rawalakot, where it was initially established in 2021 as the Department of Mathematics. At the time of its establishment, the department began offering the BS 4-Year Mathematics program with the objective of providing quality higher education in mathematical sciences to the students of the region.
In August 2025, the Kahuta Haveli Campus was upgraded into an independent university under the name University of Haveli. Following this historic transition, the Department of Mathematics was reorganized and renamed as the Department of Mathematical Sciences to reflect its expanded academic vision and interdisciplinary scope aligned with modern developments in mathematics and technology.
Since its establishment, the department has remained committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and community service by producing graduates equipped with modern mathematical knowledge, computational skills, research capabilities, and professional ethics.

Eligibility & Admission Criteria
- 1 Higher Secondary School Certificate (involving 12 years of schooling) or an IBCC equivalent qualification with a minimum 45% cumulative score in Pre-Engineering, Pre-Medical, or General Science (with Mathematics) group is the basic eligibility requirement.
